JIVIR is a Melbourne based structured improvisational world trio formed in Feb 2015 after years of collaboration between the members of this band in various combinations. The word JIVIR is a regional Persian word that roughly translates to ‘the sound you make to find your friend lost in the forest’. The trio is a blend of classical Persian, classical Western, modern Japanese, free-jazz and experimental music utilising instruments from Iran, Japan and Western cultures
