Tribute to Sun Ra: Adam Simmons Creative Music Ensemble

A tribute inspired by iconic US jazz artist and interstellar traveler, Sun Ra, with a large ensemble led by Melbourne’s renowned multi-instrumentalist, Adam Simmons.The group has had recent performances at Festival of Slow Music (Ballarat), Wentworth Arts Festival (Mildura) and Northcote Social Club.
Building upon previous experience with bucketrider, his infamous Toy Band and even the Arkestra itself, Adam Simmons brings together an interstellar collection of musicians who have played with the likes of Australian Art Orchestra, Gotye, Saskwatch, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Kamahl, Peter Brotzmann, The Snuff Puppets, Origami, Kurbist Gong Band and many, many more.

Infectious grooves, loads of horns and space age costumes. This is jazz, but not as we know it – jazz was never so much fun!
