2019 saw the last-ever Village Festival in Edinburgh Gardens, so we thank everyone who came and celebrated this arts institution one last time.
This incarnation of The Village Festival was always fundamentally an experimental artistic playground in which new work, new collaborations and new artforms were explored. In 2019, more than 350 individual artists were involved in creating more than 140 arts experiences, spanning music, theatre, kids programming, participation, food and visual arts.
Highlights included a Sunset Ritual, the return of The Famous Village Dog Show, premieres from Bunk Puppets, a new performance tavern called Ship of Jewels, and The World Kitchen.
