‘Promenade Locale’ by local artist Georgia Snowball
This participatory performative event is a misguided torch light tour of the Castlemaine CBD. Come and be part of experiencing a creative abstraction of the towns hidden sites. Be ready to give, take, imagine and be immersed in the atmosphere and characters that come alive walking the streets at night. Register your interest on entering the festival and you will be given a ticket and further misinformation. The event will be leaving Victory Park at 7pm and 8pm.
Dress warmly and for the weather.

Brunswick’s daggiest comic heros, the Burnt Sausages will do their BBQ schtick.

The best ten minute kids show in Melbourne.
NUKU’s Game
Nick Barlow’s innovative real time/real space video game in which participants send instructions to NUKU (a full body puppet) who is out in the crowd. Punters get points when NUKU successfully completes a set of tasks; get someone to dance with her, give her an ice cream, sing her a song, etc.

We are still looking for people who would like to be part of the Village Variety Show in the Sun house June 21st at 8.30pm.
If you have the desire to show off a special trick or song or skill please contact us, almost anything will go….how to play the mouth organ, sing a traditional song, how to eat a pie in class secretly, championship cup stacking or face pulling…anything really as long as it’s not offensive. Let us know we are happy to have a chat with you.
FReeZA Talent show:
A variety show run by the local FReeZA kids in The Village Sun House tent at 3.30pm. if you are young and are good or funny at doing something get in touch with FReeZa or the Village we will give you a spot and there are great prices to be won.
The Famous Village Dog Show in Castlemaine:
This is a Village staple and it’s a hit everywhere we go, 20 to 30 people bring their dogs to The Village at 3pm on Saturday afternoon and we make up a dog show with them. It’s hilarious competitive and real prices to be won. Bring your dogs (real ones or dressed up ones!) on a leash and be part of the show. Create an outfit for your dog on the day at one of our creative workshops. Owners of dogs free entree to the Village.
So You Think You Can Interpretive Dance…
Punters interperative dancing to pop anthems 4pm in the Village Sun House tent. Good as gold
The Village 10 min disco parties:
10 minutes of full on partying in the smallest disco you have ever seen. Running day and night with young local DJ Elvis.
Faces of Castlemaine:
An interactive visual art installation. Big inflatable sculptures with projections of local familiar faces you can change colours by peddling on a bike. a collaboration between local artists.
