And Fire said, ‘Come dance with me’, to Reflection. ‘We shall burn up into the night sky and become stardust. Leave your vessel sleeping in my bed of coals and come fill deep space with your light. Let all your words dance with others so that perfection is in our eyes.’!
Smoke & Mirrors asks us to write our words from deep within and to build a vessel to house them as they are lifted to a safe place. Participants work individually with their words and vessels and then collaboratively to build the fire within a paper kiln.
The writing workshop delves into reflection. What words will you commit to a scroll that will ultimately be reduced to smoke?
The hand building clay vessel workshop teaches the basics principles of hand building in clay and making vessels to house the scrolls. Each participant will make between 1 and 3 vessels.
The paper kiln building workshop will allow participants to build the volcano-style kiln in which the vessels will be fired.
